Ponies UK
The showing society ceased trading as Ponies Association (UK), following a High Court claim brought by its former chairman and her partner, but will continue under a new name.
Prior to being transferred to the new company UK Horses & Ponies Ltd on 31 May, Ponies Association (UK) — known as P(UK) — was one of the main showing societies.
The society offered their winter classic and summer supreme championships as well as support to classes at both the Royal International and Horse of the Year Show.
P(UK) was founded by Joan Lee-Smith in 1988. Her daughter Davina Whiteman was a driving force behind the growth of the society.
The popular Lee-Smith home-produced classes were held at the P(UK) championships for many years.
