Laura Tomlinson MBE is one of Britain’s top dressage riders. Laura was a member of the gold medal-winning British dressage team at the London Olympics in 2012, where she also won an individual bronze medal with her long-term partner Mistral Hojris (Alf).
Between 2008 and 2012, Laura and Alf won four championship team medals and five individual medals. Alf was retired in 2013, aged 18.
Laura’s current top horse is the 11-year-old Bordeaux mare Rose Of Bavaria, who finished fifth with almost 80% at the 2020 National Grand Prix Championships, and is currently targeting Tokyo Olympic team selection.
Laura Tomlinson is the daughter of the late Dr Wilfried Bechtolsheimer and his wife Ursula. She was born in Germany, but rides for Britain.
Laura, a regular H&H columnist, is married to England polo player Mark Tomlinson and they have three children, Annalisa, Wilfred and Hanni Rose. The family live in Gloucestershire.
