Dan Skelton: Seeking another Skelton century *H&H VIP*
Horse & Hound's racing columnist on ‘cranking up’ the summer runners and reflecting on Aintree
Dan Skelton is a British racehorse trainer, predominantly training National Hunt (jump) horses from his Warwickshire base.
He is the son of British Olympic showjumping gold medallist Nick Skelton and the older brother of jump jockey Harry Skelton.
Dan Skelton Racing was established in 2013 and is set across two yards, Lodge Hill and Badbury Hill Barn.
Prior to setting up on his own, Dan spent nine years working at the stables of multiple champion jump trainer Paul Nicholls.
Dan mostly works alongside his wife Grace, brother Harry and sister-in-law Bridget, who is also a jump jockey.
Dan scored his first Cheltenham Festival winner in 2016, with his charge Superb Story winning the County Hurdle, with his brother Harry in the saddle and he has continued to train a number of Grade One winners since then. He is tipped to win the British champion jump trainer title in the near future.
