British Hound Sports Association
The British Hound Sports Association (BHSA) was established in July 2022 as hunting’s single governing body in Britain. Oliver Hughes is the BHSA’s managing director and Richard Tyacke is the association’s hunting director. William, Viscount Astor, a former master and chairman of the Old Berks Hunt, is the first BHSA chair.
The BHSA is responsible for setting the standards and rules to which all members and recognised hunts must adhere, with a focus on standards, viability and sustainability. A separate regulatory body, the Hound Sport Regulatory Authority, administers all regulation and disciplinary matters for members and member hunts, in accordance with the rules set by the British Hound Sports Association.
