Brightwells Equine host a number of equine auctions around the UK ranging from bloodstock and elite sport horse sales through to regular monthly sales of horses, ponies and tack. They also hold specialist sales for particular breeds and private sales for individual studs.
Probably the best known of the Brightwells sales among Horse & Hound readers are the elite sport horse auctions at Addington, which are held in August (dressage horses, showjumper and foals) and December (dressage horses, showjumpers and eventers). Brightwells has also introduced an elite sale for event horses at Blenheim.
Brightwells also holds bloodstock sales at Cheltenham and Ascot for Throughbreds destined for breeding or racing. They had planned to hold a sale for Arabian racehorse in August 2014, but this was cancelled “due to extenuating circumstances”.
