World’s best showjumpers in action at Olympia

  • Eight of the world’s top 10 showjumpers are to compete in the Rolex FEI World Cup jumping leg at Olympia next week.

Olympic gold medallist and world number two Steve Guerdat heads the list, alongside British gold medal winner Nick Skelton (five), Marcus Ehning (three), Kevin Staut (four), Pius Schwizer (six), and Edwina Tops-Alexander (eight) Penelope Leprevost (nine) and Gerco Schröder (ten) will also be jumping.

Nick’s Greenwich teammates Scott Brash, Ben Maher and Peter Charles will join him in the competition, which takes place on 22 December.

“We are delighted with the line up at Olympia this year and honoured to be hosting all four of the Olympic medallists,” said event director Simon Brooks-Ward.

“Following the success of equestrian sport this summer, this competition gives the audience much to look forward to. We are going to have some very exciting classes.”

And to further celebrate Team GB’s Olympic success the dressage, showjumping and eventing medallists will be parading on Wednesday’s evening performance (19 December).
