The UK’s top 12 showjumpers will compete against the world’s best for a prize fund of more than £150,000 at the inaugural British Open Show Jumping Championships in Sheffield (24-27 April).
The British riders competing for a share of the substantial purse, plus the prestigious title of “British Open Champion 2003” are:

- Di Lampard
- William Funnell
- Scott Smith
- John Renwick
- Mark Armstrong
Riders will be awarded points for class placings throughout the show, with the top 20 point scorers going forward to the championship class on Sunday evening. This class will produce the British Open Champion, with the winner claiming 240 bonus points.
The new show has been well received by the show jumping world, with many of the UK’s biggest show jumping names throwing their full support behind the event.

Spectatorscan also see up-and-coming British stars in action at the event, which hosts the British Young Riders Show Jumping Classic for the top 20 young show jumpers and the British Home International Challenge, where teams of four from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales do battle.
