Top course designer slims for African adventure

  • Top show jumping course-designer Steve Williams is shrinking — but it’s all in a good cause.

Over the past six weeks, the international designer and chairman of the British Show Jumping Association’s course-designers committee has lost two-and-a-half stone on a sponsored slim, bringing him within a stone and a quarter of his target — 15 stone.

“My employers Stephen George and Partners are trying to raise £100,000 a year for the next three years for Habitat for Humanity, a charity building homes for African orphans of the HIV crisis,” said Steve.

“I am off to Eshowe, South Africa, in June to build homes for these vulnerable children and I really want to have lost the weight by then.”

So far Steve has raised £4,000 for the fund and you can add your donation at
