One of the north’s leading showjumpers, Carl Curtis, and the Bowes-based pony show jumping team have both secured new sponsorship deals with local companies.
Carl, from Sykehouse, Yorkshire, is to be sponsored by Hemingbrough saddlery and clothing store, R&R Country. The international rider is delighted with the backing: “Keeping a team of horses on the road is extremely expensive and R & R Country’s sponsorship is wonderful news.”
Sue Moxon of R&R Country added: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Carl, as he is a great ambassador for the sport, especially in this region.”
Having trained with Malcolm Pyrah and John Massarella, Carl now specialises in producing and competing young horses. He also teaches riders ranging from novice to grade A.
The Bowes pony show jumping team, managed by Steven Gair, have secured 12 months sponsorship from AWC North East Double Glazing of Washington.
Jade Flannigan, daughter of sponsor Peter, will benefit from the backing as will fellow team members Sophie Stewart, Melissa Martin, Nikki Pow, Helen Swailes and Rae Louise Farmer.
