Showjumper sues Bruce Springsteen

  • Rock star Bruce Springsteen is being sued by American show jumper Todd Minikus for allegedly breaking a contract to buy a $850,000 horse from Minikus for his teenage daughter, Jessica Springsteen, it is reported in the States.

Minikus, who was a member of the US’ show jumping squad at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, claims Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa backed out on buying the horse, named Pavarotti, after Minikus rode the 10-year-old gelding at the Pan American Games in Brazil in July.

The rider claims the couple put a $25,000 deposit on Pavarotti but later had second thoughts about whether the horse was right for their 16-year-old daughter Jessica, reports the Associated Press.
