Showjumper Dale Burnham recovering well after bad fall

  • Showjumper Dale Burnham is recovering well after a bad fall at The College EC, Bedfordshire.

The Northampton-based rider was competing in the Blue Chip Dynamic grades B and C qualifier on Friday (19 November) when he fell from Cool Deal II.

Dale has broken three vertebrae and three ribs, and will be out of the saddle for some time.

Fortunately, the fractures are stable and doctors think he shouldn’t need surgery to aid the healing process.

Dale thinks he will be on bed rest for up to 12 weeks but is hoping to leave hospital tomorrow (Tuesday 23 November).
