FEI decisions expected soon in cases of doping in Olympic show jumping competitions

  • The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) has now held hearings into five allegations of doping of show jumping horses at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Decisions are expected shortly in the cases of Brazilian riders Bernardos Alves (Chupa Chup) and Rodrigo Pessoa (Rufus) and Irish rider Denis Lynch (Lantinus 3) pictured right.

Second hearings may be held in the cases of Tony Andre Hansen of Norway and Camiro and Christian Ahlmann of Germany and Coster.

Bernardo Alves and Denis Lynch have both had appeals against interim suspensions turned down.

All the riders are alleged to have used banned products containing a derivative of the chilli pepper on their horses.
