Farewell to… a prolific breeder of showjumpers

  • Scottish breeder Jane Maxwell died on 2 September. She was 56 and had been suffering from cancer for two years.

Horses bred by Mrs Maxwell, who ran JX Sporthorses in Perthshire, are competed by showjumpers Geoff Billington (Balloon JX and Centomento JX), Keith Shore (Rubirosa JX) and Courtney Vince (Valletto JX) and eventer Ruth Edge (Bojack JX).

Her son Jake told H&H: “I have sold off or given away most of her youngstock now, but her name will live on in the JX horses that she has bred.”
