Cut-price BSJA membership for British Eventing members

  • British Eventing (BE) members can now enjoy a £50 three-month membership of the British Show Jumping Association (BSJA).

Some eventers join the BSJA to allow them to show jump their horses during the winter, but until now they had to pay the full annual fee of £184.

Jane Twemlow, chairman of the BSJA, said they hoped the deal would help BE members during the credit crunch.

She said: “This exclusive deal has been put together to assist BE members who recognise the value of affiliated show jumping as part of their horses’ competition development.”

The £50 membership allows one rider and one grade C horse to take part in BSJA competitions between 1 January and 31 March 2009.

Any additional grade C horses can be added at the discounted price of £20 — normally £68.

Chairman of the BE safety committee Iain Graham said: “This is a great opportunity for our members who will not only benefit from show jumping practice over the winter, to ‘get their eye in’ but will also gain valuable ring craft experience.”
