Britain prepares for battle at European jumping championships


  • The FEI European Showjumping Championships start next week (13-18 September) in Madrid and the full list of teams and individual riders has now been announced.

    The Great Britain squad consists of Scott Brash (Intertoy Z), Guy Williams (Titus II), John Whitaker (Peppermill), Nick Skelton (Carlo) and Ben Maher (Tripple X III).

    Ireland’s line up is Nicola Fitzgibbon (Puissance), Denis Lynch (Lantinus) Shane Sweetnam (Amaretto Darco), Niall Talbot (Nicos De La Cense) and Billy Twomey (Tinka’s Serenade).

    The remaining participants are:

    Austria: Stefan Eder, Christian Fries, Thomas Fruhmann and Christian Schranz
    Belgium: Dirk Demeersman, Jos Lansink, Philippe Le Jeune, Judy-Ann Melchior and Gregory Wathelet
