Boost for British show jumping

  • The BSJA has a new sponsor in SY UK Cars Ltd, which will support a series of qualifiers at major shows, with a final at the Horse of the Year Show.

The Rexton Speed and Power series – named after the company’s new 4×4 vehicle – replaces the Daewoo Grand Prix league, and the classes should prove crowd-pleasers.

Riders will jump an eight-fence speed track, before tackling a six-bar course where the fences will get progressively bigger.

The top three unqualified riders in each class go through to the final, where they will join the top eight on the BSJA ranking list at 31 December 2002.

The series begins at East of England Show (13-15 June), with other qualifiers at Royal Norfolk (25-26 June), The Royal Show (29 June-2 July), the Great Yorkshire (8-10 July), New Forest (29-31 July) and Shrewsbury Flower Show (15-16 Aug).
