Jo Jenkins out of action with broken vertebrae

  • Buckinghamshire-based showing producer Jo Jenkins will be out of action for at least four months after breaking one vertebrae and crushing another in a fall at Moreton-in-Marsh show on 3 September.

Jo was riding along the horse chute, next to a train line, on the way to the ring when a train came past.

“I was on a youngster and he just panicked, I had no chance of staying on,” explained Jo, who was treated at Cheltenham hospital.

Her work rider Jane Turney and Katie Jerram will now take her five rides for Horse of the Year Show (HOYS).

Jo said: “Having seen the X-rays, I am very lucky to be walking — I just count my blessings that luck was on my side.”
