The Royal Show is the latest FMD casualty.
The 2001 show, scheduled to take place from 2-5July, has been cancelled.
The show is Europe’s premier exhibition of farming, food and the countryside, as well as being a focal point of the showing season, and had considered running without livestock.
But chief executive Mike Calvert felt this would be “inappropriate as the Royal Show has farming at its core.”
