Farewell to… a renowned Welsh pony breeder

  • Barbara Grant-Parkes of Twylands Stud, Worcester, has died at the age of 84.

Mrs Grant-Parkes bred many successful riding ponies and Welsh section Bs, including the 1985 pony of the year Twylands Carillon and the stallions Twylands Troubadour and Twylands Prose.

She is survived by her husband Edward and their three children.

Long-time H&H showing reporter Dr Wynne Davies said of Mrs Grant-Parkes: “She was that rare thing in the horseworld – a genius.”
