Coloureds invited to RIHS


  • Coloured horses and ponies to compete at the Royal International Horse Show for the first time

    Owners of coloured horses and ponies have a new championship to look forward to at the Royal International Horse Show (RIHS).

    Ridden classes for ponies up to 153cm (15hh) and horses over 153cm will be held during the RIHS at the All England Jumping Course, Hickstead, on 24-28 July.

    “The BSPA is delighted that the RIHS hasagreed to hold classes for coloured horses and ponies,” says BSPA events director, Sandra Lawrence. “Coloured horses now have access to all the major championships.”

    Twenty qualifiers, open to members of the British Skewbald and Piebald Association (BSPA) only, will be held around the country. Horse which qualify for the RIHS will also qualify for the BSPA’s national championships, which are believed to be the largest show for piebald and skwebald horse in the country.
