Our reviewer loved every feature of this coat and it has become her go-to item of riding clothing

First impressions of this coat were that it felt very light so I wondered if it would be warm enough for riding on chilly winter mornings and nights. It looks very smart in the dark navy and the light-weightness of the padding means that you don’t end up feeling like a Michelin man, nor do you get that dreaded “stuffed arm” feel where you can’t bend your elbows to do anything.

Another feature I really liked was that the zip stops well below the bottom of the coat, meaning that it doesn’t get in the way when riding.

Standing in the pouring rain at a show all day? No fear — there is an in-built storm skirt that buttons across to keep out the rain.

It is very waterproof and one of the comfiest coats I have ridden in.

As well as being fitted and very toasty, there is enough room inside it for when I was feeling particularly precious and wanted to layer several hoodies and jumpers inside it.

The pockets are where you would want them to be — one on the inside for your phone, two decent sized (enough for hoof picks, bailer twine etc) button-up pockets at the front and two hand warming pockets to stop your fingers freezing off.

There is even an in-built wrist warmer, which stops drips and draughts from going up your arms.

This has now become my absolute “go to” coat and I would definitely recommend it.

The only fault I have found with it was one of the tiny zips on the handwarmer/side pockets came off after a few wears. However, as I use those pockets as handwarmers anyway, I have found that I haven’t missed being able to zip them shut.

I normally wear a UK size 10-12 and found the medium was just right.
