These boots were found to be ideal for yard use but didn't have the greatest of fits

I tested the Noble Outfitters Muds Stay Cool High boots in size 7. These boots are true to their name – they really do keep your feet cool.

I started testing these boots in the winter, when our fields were still rather muddy and they kept my feet warm and dry. They are also easy to hose clean, however it takes slightly longer to get the mud off the neoprene inner.

Now that we are into the spring I have found that I can still wear the boots on warmer. Not once have my feet broken a sweat.

Obviously these are yard boots, so are not suitable for riding or driving. They are quite chunky, however I have found them to be more lightweight than other similar yard boots on the market, which is an advantage.

The boots are comfortable – they have a bouncy, cushioned feel to them, however I found that they slip at the back of my heel. They feel somewhat ‘rounded’ on the heel, and I can feel the boot move as I walk, rather than a custom and secure fit as advertised. I would therefore recommend that you try on a pair before you buy, as this is certainly something to watch out for.

In addition to this the boots are quite straight cut from the ankle to the leg, meaning that they are not very fitted around the ankle. I have very slim ankles and big calves, so I noticed that the material looks somewhat baggy around the ankle and upper leg, yet close fitting around the calf.

For this reason I think that there is future scope for a more fitted version, however I do appreciate that these are yard boots and are here to serve a purpose rather than look catwalk ready.

    Verdict

Our reviewer liked the technical aspect of these boots but they didn't hav a supreme fit
