Our reviewer found these boots to be very durable and great for general use around the yard. However they are slightly too chunky to wear while riding

These size seven black Muck Boots are very comfy and warm as they feature 5mm of neoprene insulation and a warm fleece lining.

I particularly like their extended rubber exterior, as it makes them easy to wash down in muddy conditions.

Their midsole is made from a dual density EVA with a comfort insole and I can definitely notice this – the boots are extremely comfortable and cushioned and do not feel like heavy duty boots once they are on your feet.

Their outsole features a slip-resistant rugged sole that offers a good grip; this was originally a concern of mine as I have had Muck Boots in the past that I found slippy on ice.

The Arctic Sport however has the best grip that I have seen on a Muck Boot and I think that this sole is definitely worth the higher price when compared with other models.

The boots fit well around the leg (this definitely helps with the inevitable leg soaking that comes with moving your horse’s water bucket), however I was surprised at how large the boots came up when I first put them on. This was not a problem once coupled with thick winter socks, however I think that in future I will drop down half a size.

I don’t wear these boots to ride or drive in, as they are very chunky. It is this chunkiness that puts me off wearing the boots away from the yard.

However, since owning these boots they have considerably grown on me and now I can’t imagine day to day life on the yard without them. They are great for your winter stable duties and are easy to pull off when you need to pop your riding boots on. I get lots of compliments from the other liveries and I would recommend as they truly are a robust and durable boot.
