Ruby Walsh to ride My Will in Saturday’s Grand National

  • Top jockey Ruby Walsh has confirmed he will be riding the Paul Nicholls-trained My Will in the Grand National this Saturday (4 April).

Ruby, who has won the race twice before‚ on Papillion (2000) and Hedgehunter (2005) — has chosen 9-year-old My Will as he believes the good ground will suit the horse.

He was previously undecided between My Will, owned by the Stewart Family, and Southern Vic — trained by his father Ted Walsh.

Niall “Slippers” Madden — who won the race in 2006 aboard Numbersixvalverde — will take the ride on Southern Vic.
