Only 6 of this year's 20 starters managed to complete the gruelling Velka Pardubicka course in the Czech republic
This year marked the 123rd running of the Czech Republic’s Velka Pardubicka — the world’s richest cross-country chase.
The French-bred mare Orphee Des Blins claimed the title for the 2nd successive year with the Czech Republic’s own Jan Faltesjek at the helm, tackling the famous 31 obstacles in style.
But it was not such a happy ending for British and Irish challengers, who all came unstuck as only 6 of the 20 starters completed the gruelling 4¼mile course.
