What the organisers say
The dressage arenas are on flat grassland. The showjumping arena and warm-up are on a surface, with plenty of space for both.
We have more land available for 2015, allowing us to alter the cross-country course. The tracks run over mature farmland pasture and through woodland. The terrain is gently undulating. Sharon Watt’s courses include a mix of permanent and portable fences and there is water. They are encouraging courses for all horses and riders.
What the riders say
Dressage & showjumping — “There is a pre-warm up area which works well as you then move into the warm up in a bigger field — where the dressage arenas are — about four or five horses before your test.” “The actual field is very quiet and the ground is flat and level.” “The showjumping is held in the all-weather outdoor arena and the warm up takes place indoors.” “The fences are bright and educational, but being in an arena, it can be quite tight, especially for the younger horses.”
Cross-country — “The courses are lovely and flowing and offer plenty of variety, including fences through a wooded area which can be spooky.” “The fences are nice and inviting, making them ideal for first-timers at any level.” “The going is good as the soil is quite sandy and it stands up well.” “It is a very well-run and organised event.”
