    The baby has not been named yet, but is reported to weigh a healthy 7lbs 12oz. The new baby is 16th in line to the throne.

    A statement from Buckingham Palace said:  “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal, Captain Mark Phillips and Mike’s parents, Mr Phillip and Mrs Linda Tindall, have been informed and are delighted with the news.

    “The baby’s name will be confirmed in due course.”

    Zara was busy right up to before the birth and was spotted supporting her horses at the Heythrop Hunt Point-to-Point in Gloucestershire last weekend.
