Young horse tests explained

  • The Supporters of British Breeding have organised a seminar to give breeders more information about the SEIB/BEF young horse evaluation tests and how to prepare for them.

The seminar will be held on Sunday, 13 January at 10.30am at the Hilton London Olympia Hotel under the chairmanship of Richard Meade, after the BHF Breeders’ Awards Dinner at the same venue the previous evening.

The highlight of the event will be a talk by the international dressage rider Kyra Kyrklund and her partner Richard White, who have an outstanding record of success in the Swedish young horse classes upon which the SEIB/BEF young horse evaluations are based.

Other contributions to the seminar will include an explanation of the philosophy behind the evaluations and their importance to the future of British sport horse breeding by Jane Kidd and a discussion of the rules and procedures led by Celia Clarke.

The morning will end with a question and answer session and those attending will also receive a full set of the rules and entry forms.

Tickets for the seminar (price £10 each) are available from Bettine Ferrand, Clifton House, Clifton, nr Ashbourne, Derbys DE6 2GL (tel/fax: 01335 346141).
