Yorkshire-based horse Aimbry Toscanne in foal to Moorlands Totilas

  • A mare in Yorkshire has been confirmed in foal to record-breaking dressage horse Moorlands Totilas.

Elizabeth Haigh’s mare Aimbry Toscanne scanned at 95 days in foal to Moorlands Totilas on 30 September.

Aimbry Toscanne’s dam line includes Fidora, who bred Adeline Cornelissen’s Jerich Parzival.

Moorlands Totilas and Edward Gal last week won three gold medals at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky.

“I was extremely pleased our mare was selected for Totilas, but unless we have a live, healthy foal I’m not allowing myself to get too excited,” said Elizabeth.

“On her way back from Twemlows we had a blow-out in the box and she was considerably upset, so we are relieved her scan is positive and are looking forward to June.”

Elizabeth, who owns Aimbry Stud in Huddersfield, bought Aimbry Toscanne from Holland four years ago.

She has bred three colts from the mare.

“Her first foal has just been backed and is proving very trainable,” said Elizabeth.

“He is athletic moving and we will definitely aim him at dressage.”
