War Horse star joins charity celebration

  • Joey — the puppet star of the West End show War Horse — was a special guest at The Brooke Aberdeen group’s 80th birthday celebrations last week.

The fundraiser was part of the group’s Horseman’s Sunday service and people had the opportunity to meet Joey. Even the group’s pet donkey Porridge met the West End star.

The Brooke charity was started by Dorothy Brooke, who founded the charity after helping war horses that had been abandoned in Egypt. The charity now works in 11 different countries helping over 11 million horses every year.
