Barbers Shop (pictured above) topped a magnificent week for his owner/breeder The Queen in landing the Tattersalls and Retraining of Racehorses Show Series Championship at Hickstead under Katie Jerram.
Three days after The Queen’s Estimate won the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot (pictured below), Barbers Shop extended his unbeaten streak in the showring to five — four in racehorse classes, and one as a hunter.
At Hickstead on Sunday (23 June), the Saddlers’ Hall 11-year-old won the National Hunt class and the tricolour. He is also qualified for the racehorse final at Horse of the Year Show.
Barbers Shop was trained by Nicky Henderson until he transferred to showing last year. He won eight races under Rules and £143,000.
