The BHS has announced prices for equine passports, which will become compulsory from the end of next year
Following DEFRA’s confirmation of the breed societies and organisations which have been authorised to issue passports in the UK, the BHS has announced its charges for the new compulsory passports.
An equine passport for a horse owner who is not a member of the BHS will cost £27.00. Gold BHS members and British Riding Club members will receive a £5 discount, with passports costing £22.00 each.
Concessions will be available for BHS approved riding establishments, BHS approved livery yards and equine welfare charities.
The BHS will be issuing passports to un-registered horses that are not eligible to be registered with a breed society, a competitive discipline or other passport-issuing organisation.
Further information and application forms for a passport can be obtained from Anne Burns, British Horse Society, Stoneleigh Deer Park, Kenilworth, Warwickshire CV8 2XZ (tel: 08701 202244).
