The second Hickstead Equine Event takes place at the All England Jumping Course in Sussex this week from 10 to 12 January and offers the opportunity to meet many top riders, as well as world behaviour expert Monty Roberts.
This year’s event will be held in a heated marquee with post-Christmas bargains available at many of the trade stands.
One of the main attractions looks set to be Hickstead’s live version of the TV quiz show They Think it’s All Over, featuring Tim Stockdale, Dane Rawlins, Peter Charles, Pippa Funnell, Jamie Wingrave and Charlotte Edmonds.
Top riders will also feature in a Room 101 Hickstead style, airing their pet hates, followed by catwalk parade for a light-hearted fashion show called “Model (mis)Behavior.”
Monty Roberts will also speak at the dailyforums as well as signing copies of his new book From My Hands to Yours, which will be on sale at the event.
Public forums where team managers from showjumping, dressage and horse trials talk about plans and problem solving will take place daily at 11.15am.
The event will also play host to Hope in the Valley’s 35th anniversary celebrations. The Riding for the Disabled Association Group based at Plumpton College will present a display of photographs illustrating how itgives physically disabled children the opportunity to experience riding.
Tickets cost £5 on the door but you can save £2 if you buy your tickets over the phone (tel: 01273 833884). Doors open at 10am
