A pony-mad family from Northamptonshire has come up with an unusual way to beat the credit crunch — getting themselves sponsored.
Sisters Georgina Headley, nine, and Abigail, six, attend the Woodland Pytchley branch of the Pony Club in a trailer advertising kitchen company Wychwood Cabinet Makers Ltd.
And the girls wear sweatshirts, baseball caps and jackets sporting the company’s logo.
Their mother Sarah said: “Wychwood is paying us £500 a year to advertise them. We go to local shows and the Pony Club every weekend, so the advert will be seen by lots of people, some of whom may want a new kitchen.”
Wychwood Cabinet Makers is based on the farm in Woodford, Kettering, where the Headleys keep 12.3hh Caramel and 12.2hh Pippin.
Director John Coleman said: “I am interested in marketing the company in more unusual ways, rather than just taking out adverts, and this seemed an ideal fit.”
