Show pony put down following dog attack

  • Wiltshire Police are investigating a dog attack on a 19-year-old show pony, which left its leg stripped to the bone.

Nikita, a bay 14.2hh show hunter pony, was found severely injured in Park Cottage Fields in Tollard Royal at around 2.30pm on 18 February and was put down.

Owner Angie Cox told police she thought the animal had been chased around the eight-acre field before being brought down by the dog.
