ShoeSecure, from SupaStuds, is a new invention to prevent a horse ripping off his front shoes in the field by treading on them.
Your horse losing horseshoes in the paddock can be a nightmare, with not only the inconvenience of replacing lost shoes but the risk of the shoe lying in the field with the nails sticking up.
ShoeSecure also protects the horse from over reaching and the hoof damage that can occur when a shoe is ripped off.
SupaStuds says that if used correctly the ShoeSecure will last for months.
ShoeSecure is designed to be used in the field only. It is made from an extremely strong thermoplastic polymer and is lightweight, strong and durable but still flexible.
Quick and easy to fit, you just hold it under the tap to clean.
ShoeSecure comes in a choice of colours and two sizes — shoe size 4-5 inches (small) and shoe size 5-6 inches (medium).
Larger shoe sizes can be accommodated with a simple modification to the medium ShoeSecure. Check your horse’s shoe size with your farrier.
The kit includes a pair of ShoeSecures and four ShoeSecure Studs and costs £45.
