A distraught owner, whose overgrown New Forest pony, Rebel, was stolen from his field in Brereton, Staffordshire is offering a reward for any information that will lead to his safe return.
The seven-year-old, very dark bay 15hh gelding, was stolen between 1pm and 5.30pm on 1 September. Thieves smashed through a locked gate and also attempted to steal a thoroughbred that shared the paddock.
“I arrived at the field to find my 22-year-old thoroughbred mare was wearing a dirty old rope halter and had a swollen leg. Then I looked round to find the gate at the bottom of the field had been smashed and that Rebel was missing,” said Sharon. “I still can¨t believe he has gone.”
A number of horses have been stolen from the Staffordshire area during the last few months including a 15-year-old, 15hh black mare called Prima who went missing while on loan in the Hednesford area. Prima has the freezemark “6B9Z” on her nearside saddle patch.
If you have any information about either of these missinghorses please contact Staffordshire Horsewatch (tel: 01785 234429).
