  • Prince Charles has been taken to hospital after falling off his horse during a charity polo match at Cirencester, Glos, today.

The Prince of Wales, who was playing alongside his sons William and Harry, took a tumble in the second chukka of the match.

Prince Charles, who was playing for the Highgrove team, was taken to Cirencester hospital and later transferred to Cheltenham General. Reports are that Prince Charles has not suffered any broken bones or serious injury.

His sons completed the match with a substitute player.

The match was the final of the Meadow Trophy in aid of several charities, including Macmillan Cancer Care.
