New sponsor ups prize pot for show jumping’s Scope Festival by £26k

  • The prize money for the grand prix at the BSJA (British Show Jumping Association) Scope Festival of Show Jumping has been increased to £33,000, from £7,000, following a sponsorship deal with bedding company Cushionbed.

The West Midlands-based firm has agreed to become the title sponsor of the show for five years and is offering a £9,000 first prize in the renamed grand prix class — the Cushionbed Elite National Championship

Show director Jimmy Maguire said: “We are delighted that Cushionbed is becoming involved with the show and are looking forward to a long and happy working relationship.”

All the stables at the show (29 August-4 September 2010) will be bedded down with the company’s recycled wood fibre bedding.

Cushionbed managing director Rod Gifford added: “We are extremely excited to be part of one of the most prestigious events of the equestrian calendar.”
