New governing body for horse sport in Ireland

    • Horse Sport Ireland has replaced the Equestrian Federation of Ireland (EFI) as the national governing body for equestrian sport.

    The transfer was finalised at HSI’s EGM in Dublin on 29 December, completing a lengthy transition process since the concept for the change was announced at the end of 2006 (news, 23 November 2006).

    This transfer of authority has been approved by the International Equestrian Federation and the Olympic Council of Ireland.
