New BEVA president takes over

  • Gloucestershire vet Andrew Harrison is the new president of the British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) for 2014/15.

Mr Harrison, who is a partner at the Three Counties Equine Hospital, took on the role last week (13 September) succeeding Paul Jepson.

He qualified from Liverpool University in 1988 and is an expert in anaesthesia and echocardiography.

Mr Harrison said he was “honoured” to take on the role and intends to target certain areas, such as progressing “new safer horse rescue” courses, strengthening BEVA’s relationship with the British Horseracing Authority, and moving forward with the regulation of musculoskeletal paraprofessionals.
