Name change for Olympia

  • The Christmas show at Olympia (14-20 December) has reverted back to the title of “Olympia, the London International Horse Show”, the name of the original show which was started in 1906.

The change in name is to reflect the changing nature of Olympia, and its representation of many aspects of the horse world. The inclusion of the only UK Dressage World Cup Qualifier will add to the prestigious array of classes, with the Puissance and the Grand Prix among the other Blue Ribbon events.

Simon Brookes-Ward, show director, said: “This name change was a necessary step for us with the inclusion of Dressage and logical given that most people refer to us as “Olympia” anyway!

“The show has a very successful format but it is very important that we keep moving forward and keep ahead of what the audiences want to experience at the show. The new name, logo and website are just some of the innovations you can look forward to for this year.”

The overhaul of the Christmas show comes just as the box office opens today. For tickets and information call 0870 733 0733 or go to www.olympiahorseshow.com
