Mary King opens new equine arena at Bicton College


  • Olympic event rider Mary King unveiled a brand new equine arena at Bicton College last month.

    On Saturday 21 January, Mary officially opened the new arena in Devon. She appeared alongside her former eventer King Solomon III, who recently retired from his second career as a dressage horse.

    The newly launched facilities include a 20m x 60m indoor arena with geltrack surface, gallery seating for 150 people, state of the art teachingrooms and judging areas and offices.

    More than 250 visitors attended the grand opening, which included equestrian displays by students,training tips from Sarah Cheetham as well as parade of some of the Westcountry’s top stallions. There was also a cross-country jumping demo by Mary and her daughter Emily.
