Man and horse drown while herding cattle in Kansas

  • A 20-year-old man and his horse have drowned while out herding cattle in Kansas.

Chance Ramsey was helping two other people herd cows on Saturday (9 May) when one animal wandered into a nearby pond in Reno County.

Mr Ramsey rode into the water on his horse to fetch the cow, but the pair was swept away.

The other herders lost sight of them and called an emergency rescue team.

Mr Ramsey was found submerged in the pond but rescue teams were unable to revive him.

    The horse also died.
