Liz Edgar and David Broome bid farewell to mother Millie

  • The mother of David, Frederick, Mary Broome and Liz Edgar died on Saturday night (27 November). She was 98.

Mrs Broome was described by the family as the “support system” to her showjumping children.

She was well known on the jumping circuit, proudly joining David (pictured) at the Rome Olympics in 1960, when he won his first bronze medal, and Liz when she won the junior Europeans in Vienna.

Her funeral takes place at Forest of Dean Crematorium at 1pm on Friday 3 December.

This will be followed by a service of thanksgiving at St Mary’s Church Portskewett. All are welcome.
