Kentish riders Think Pink in aid of Cancer Research

  • A 10-mile Ride for Life with a ‘Think Pink’ theme is being held at Fawkham in Kent on 7 and 8 June to raise money for Cancer Research.

More than 200 people have already signed up to decorate themselves and their mounts with the colour pink for the 10 mile, off-road ride to be held at Speedgate Farm.

Last year’s ride was a huge success with £9,000 being raised. This year, organiser Nicky Barnes would like to double that amount and hopes that “the countryside will be turned pink for the day”. It is hoped that there will be enough entries to extend the event over two days.

Speedgate Saddlery will be awarding prizes for the pinkest horse and rider in different age groups and also for the most sponsorship money raised. There will be goody bags for every participant.

Organisers would like to encourage anyone with a horse or pony to sign up to this fun ride with a very worthwhile cause today.

For more information go to www.speedgatefarm.co.uk or phone 01474 872313. Entries close on Monday 26 May and no entries will be taken on the day.
