AS H&H products editor, I see equestrian fashion come and go. If someone approached me with a new range of clothing and said: “By the way, it only comes in pink”, I would have laughed and dismissed it as an instant failure. But add the name Katie Price into the equation and suddenly all the rules change.
Her clothing range, Katie Price Equestrian, was launched at the beginning of September and since then hoodies, velour joggers and gilets — in every shade of pink and featuring her distinctive logo — have been flying off the Derby House shelves, where the range is sold exclusively.
“The Katie Price clothing range has been a fantastic success, achieving record-breaking sales in its first two months and making it our best-selling leisurewear brand,” says Mark Reeves, commercial manager at Derby House. “We are thrilled with the promotion that Katie has managed to achieve for the equestrian world.”
Among the most popular items in the Katie Price riding wear collection have been the fitted picquet polo (£24.99) and silver print T-shirt (£19.99).
But there is good news if pink is not your thing. The popular blouson jacket (£69.99) is now available in navy blue — the first item to emerge from the pastel hue.
And your horse needn’t miss out either — headcollars, rugs and bandages are a staple part of the Katie Price horse clothing collection.
Available next month by popular demand will be the socks Katie famously wore with shocking pink hotpants at her press launch. They will be selling for £12.99 for a pack of three.
Maybe the future is pink after all.
