Karen Lewty appointed BHS regional development officer

  • North-west England has a new British Horse Society (BHS) regional development officer. Karen Lewty, who formerly held the position of event safety officer for the BHS, took on the role on Monday 2 April.

Karen will be responsible for the BHS north west region which comprises the counties of Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Isle of Man, Lancashire, Merseyside and the Wirral.

“I am really enthusiastic about the future of the industry and excited at the prospect of contributing to the valuable work undertaken by The British Horse Society,” she said.

A successful career in event management and equestrian sport has given Karen plenty of experience and her passion for horses and riding ensures she is on the same wavelength as other BHS members.

“I am really looking forward to getting to know the members in the regions and to becoming a part of the team that works so tirelessly for horse and rider,” she said.
