Improving rider performance

  • Introductory courses in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) are being run for riders and instructors aiming to improve their performance.

The idea behind NLP, which is the study ofhow we behave and respond in certain situations, originated in America.

Introduced into the equestrian world four years ago, the principal of NLP is that certain patterns of behaviour are often repeated and by developing certain techniques, even the most deeply held negative thoughts can be turned into positive responses.

Topics covered on the course include “Just Enjoy Your Horse” (Building Confidence), “Riding a Dressage Test”, “Better Teaching” and “Get Jumping”.
