H&H pointing columnist Richard Woollacott off until 2012

  • Horse & Hound’s new point-to-point columnist Richard Woollacott will be out of the saddle for the rest of 2011.

The 2009/10 national champion suffered a collapsed lung, broken ribs and torn shoulder ligaments during a fourth fence fall from My Runaway in the season’s opening Black Forest Lodge on 27 November.

He returned home from hospital in Exeter on Sunday (4 December).

“I’ve been well cared for both in hospital and at home”, said Richard yesterday morning (Monday 5 December).

“My staff are excellent, we’ll still have runners during December and I shall be atWadebridge on Sunday.

I’m hoping to be back race riding at the start of the New Year”.
